A Fisiografia como ferramenta para o planejamento do uso da terra em microbacias hidrográficas - I
Keywords:
soils, landscapesAbstract
In more concrete terms, physiography is the geography of soils, focusing primarily on the study of the external characteristics of landscapes and the influence they exert on their internal or pedological characteristics. In physiographic analysis, all land characteristics are considered and analyzed in order to group them into homogeneous relief patterns, also considering, in addition to aspects related to climate, geomorphology and geology, the physical-chemical properties of the soils (determining factors). Thus, at the end of the physiographic analysis, each of the separate units defines its own land use suitability. Therefore, the advantages of using physiographic analysis as a tool to classify the land use suitability are unequivocal, if we consider the importance of the homogeneity of the intrinsic and extrinsic factors that condition the characteristics of each physiographic unit that makes up the area to be mapped.
