New edition highlights vegetables and agriculture 4.0
The new edition of RAC features articles on research on vegetable crops and the use of cutting-edge digital technologies to optimize agricultural production and the integration of production chains.
Cucumber nutrition is the subject of two studies. They evaluate the nutrient absorption curves in this species and the management of the nutrient solution in the production of this culture. Other articles evaluated the cauliflower cultivars adapted to the different cultivation systems and the onion development stages according to the sowing dates.
Agriculture 4.0 and its applications are also covered in this edition. The Phenoglad Mobile SC newsletter features an application for smartphones that guides the producer in planning the production of gladioli (palma-de-santa-rita). With it it is possible to obtain simulations from the date of planting or harvesting the flowers. Another example of the application of agriculture 4.0 is in studies on the soil. The bibliographic review of this edition of RAC deals with advances in soil study techniques via remote sensing with methods that promise to radically change the way we evaluate and monitor the soil.
