New rules for the journal's article submission process
New rules for the journal's article submission process
The editorial team of the journal Agropecuária Catarinense, always attentive to editorial innovations and seeking alignment with the foundations of open science, announces changes to the rules for article submission. As of December/2024, the journal has adopted two significant changes for the submission and review of its manuscripts: the adoption of the CRediT taxonomy and the deposit of article data.
The adoption of the CRediT taxonomy aims to better characterize the roles of authors of their articles published in scientific journals. The Authorship Contribution Taxonomy (CRediT) is a high-level taxonomy that includes 14 options to represent the roles normally played by authors in academic and scientific production. The roles describe the specific contributions of each author to academic and scientific research, even though each author can assume multiple roles.
But what does this change in practice? From now on, authors of papers submitted to RAC must have their roles defined when submitting the manuscript so that this information can be added to the final publication of accepted articles.
The second change concerns the issue of data deposit for articles.
From now on, authors of new articles will be encouraged to share all research data related to their manuscripts submitted to the journal. The practice of sharing data is aligned with the principles of open science, reinforcing the journal's commitment to best editorial practices and the dissemination of scientific knowledge. Thus, making research data available allows its reuse in new studies and ensures the transparency of the research developed. In addition, authors will be able to disclose the location where the raw data is stored, unless this is not possible for ethical, privacy or confidentiality reasons.
To learn more about these topics, please consult the journal's page under “Policies” and “Publication Standards” before submitting your new papers.
Finally, another new feature in RAC is Publication facts, which allows you to check aspects involved in the development and processing of the manuscript, as well as the number of reviewers, time to publication, etc. In addition to increasing credibility, this feature increases the transparency of the journal. Do you have an article published in the journal? Check the Publication facts at the end of your article's page on the journal's platform.
