Performance of sweet potato genotypes in the Lichinga plateau, Mozambique

The objective of this work was to evaluate the performance of sweet potato genotypes in the Lichinga plateau, Mozambique. The trial was conducted through DBC with 3 replications and 5 treatments (3 clones and 2 sweet potato varieties). At 160 days, evaluations of percentages of set and survival, length of vines, total number of roots, number of commercial roots and average weight of commercial roots were carried out. There was no difference between genotypes on percentages of set (mean = 95%) and survival (mean = 88%), average weight of commercial roots (mean = 0,66t ha-1). The variety Irene stood out in mean root yield (23,07t ha-1), number of commercial roots (135802 roots ha-1) and total number of roots (430041 roots ha-1).
