Abstract

The efficiency of vegetal oils from soy and neem, and of entomophatogenous fungus Beauveria
bassiana was assayed against adults of the banana weevil Cosmopolites sordidus. The experiment was carried out at the Entomology Laboratory of Epagri/Experiment Station of Itajaí, Santa Catarina. The experimental design used was completely randomized with six treatments and five repetitions. The evaluations were carried out 1, 3, 7, 14, 21 and 26 days after application. The mortality corrected was calculated by Abbott’s formula. The
study concluded that all the treatments based on the soy oil were efficient in the control of the banana weevil, in which the soy oil + B. bassiana + wheat flour, after seven days, reached 100% of efficiency, while the treatments with B. Bassiana and soy oil applied isolatedly reached 100% of efficiency after 26 days.
