Abstract

The objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of combined application of gray calcite and phosphate in
soil on the forage production area in caíva. An experiment was conducted in Canoinhas, SC, in a randomized complete block
design with three replications in 4 x 2 factorial arrangement. Four levels of gray calcite (0, 3, 6 and 9 t / ha) and two levels of
Gafsa rock phosphate (0 and 600 kg / ha), totaling eight treatments. The products were applied in Summer 2010. We evaluated
the production of ryegrass + Vicia in 2010, native pasture in summer 2010/11 and the consortium ryegrass + Vicia in 2011.
We also evaluated the chemical composition of the forage. There was effect of gray calcite and interaction between ash and
phosphate, in all evaluation periods, increasing the dry matter yield of pasture with increasing doses of gray calcite. The
phosphate promoted increased production of forage only in the absence of gray calcite. There was no effect of treatments on
the chemical composition of the pasture.
