Effect of gibberelic acid on the growth of post-acclimatized plants of apple rootstocks cultivar Murabakaido

Abstract

 

The present study was developed to assess the efficiency of the use of the GA 3 in plants post
acclimatized of ‘Marubakaido’ rootstocks, to avoid the possible dormancy in this development phase. Plants rooted in vitro and recently acclimatized were transferred to plastic vases with 1L of growth medium of purple soil and carbonized peel of rice (1:1- v:v). The treatments consisted of three pulverizations of the GA3 with 12 days interval,
in concentrations of zero, 100, 200 and 300mg/L. Thirty-six days after treatments the following variables were record: height of the plant, diameter of the stem and distance of the buds. The use of GA3 post-acclimatization stimulated the growth of ‘Marubakaido’ plants with the increase of the dose and inhibited the dormancy of plants.
