Dual purpose winter grains are an excellent alternative for sustainability of the crop-livestock integration system in southern Brazil. The objective of this study was to evaluate the productivity of the dual purpose wheat “BRS Tarumã”, submitted to different numbers of cuts. The evaluated variables were: forage dry matter, forage protein content, grain yield, hectoliter weight and negative correlation for the mass of one thousand grains. There was a positive correlation between the number of cuts, the yield and the hectoliter weight, and a negative correlation for the mass of a thousand seeds. The dry mass variable was more productive with the use of two cuts, and the protein content was not influenced. It is concluded that wheat cv. “Tarumã” is an option for the production of forage and grains in the west of Santa Catarina.Metrics
