Abstract

The species Diabrotica speciosa (Germar, 1824) (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae), commonly known as “vaquinha”, is considered a polyphagous pest (it feeds on several host plants) that is widely spread in Brazilian states and some countries in South America. This paper presents the attack symptoms, biological cycle and damage that the larvae of Diabrotica speciosa cause in corn crops in Brazil.
