Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the correlation between live weight at slaughter and cold carcass
weight, commercial carcass yield, and carcass compactness of 50 castrated male lambs, consisting of 12 Ille de France, 32 Texel, and six Suffolk. All lambs ranging from 120 to 150 days old and raised on winter perennial pasture. In average, the lambs had a linear and positive correlation between live weight at slaughter and all others studied traits.
