Soil water infiltration measured by rainfall simulator and Cornell sprinkle infiltrometer

The incorrect determination of water infiltration may overestimate or underestimate the spacing between terraces on crops. The work aimed to compare two equipment to determine the infiltrated volume and the constant water infiltration rate on an Alfisol. The experiment was carried out in 2018 with five field replicates and composed of the following treatments: 1) rainfall simulator on soil under no-tillage; 2) rainfall simulator under no-tillage after bean sowing; 3) Cornell Sprinkle Infiltrometer on soil under no-tillage; 4) Cornell Sprinkle Infiltrometer under no-tillage after bean sowing. There is no difference between equipment for volume and the water infiltration rate constant. There is no difference between equipment, and there is no effect of the presence of a soil seeding line for a constant rate of water infiltration into the soil. Both rainfall simulation methodologies obtain the same results to evaluate the volume of water infiltration.
