Abstract

Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is the most important winter cereal in Brazil, and it is cultivated mainly in the states of Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. Among the diseases of greatest importance to the crop leaf rust, powdery mildew and soil-borne wheat mosaic virus (SBWMV) stand out. As control measures are: the use of resistant cultivars, seed treatment with fungicides, balanced fertilization and spraying fungicides.
