        Abstract

This paper aims to present a new variety of peach obtained by the Peach Breeding Program of Epagri/Urussanga Experiment Station called SCS419 Mondardo. This cultivar has as parent varieties Aurora 1 (female) and Pampeano (male). This variety has good adaptation to regions with approximately 200 hours of chilling below 7.2°C, since there is no occurrence of late frosts. The great advantage of this variety is its early fruit ripeness. It is moderately resistant to Xhanthomonas pruni, with fruits of white pulp, low acidity, and good size at the time of harvest. It is recommended for planting in the Southern Region of Santa Catarina state, southern Brazil, at altitudes above 200 meters and also for other regions in southern Brazil under 200 or more hours of chilling below 7.2°C and free from late frosts.
