Tetranychus ogmophallos Ferreira & Flechtmann mite (Acari: Tetranychidae) infested and caused damages to a peanut crop, Arachis hypogaea L. (Fabaceae), located in São Lourenço do Oeste (26o21’24’’S, 52o50’54’’W and altitude of 880m). The yield of peanuts was reduced because this pest caused tanning and premature fall of leaves
and produced dense web on plants. This was the first record of T. ogmophallos in Santa Catarina State, Brazil.
