Influence of seed origin, planting density and sowing time on the yield and quality of panicles of broomcorn

Abstract

The yield and panicles quality of the broomcorn Tietê were evaluated according to the origin of the seeds, planting density (0.6 and 0.8m between rows) and sowing time in the summer and fall seasons. The results showed that the sowing time had influence on the panicles and seed yields despite the density of the plants. The origin of the seeds had significative effect on the planting lower density and on the panicles of longest fibers.
