Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the physico-chemical parameter of flesh patterns of ‘SCS443 Isadora’ apples common cold storage (AA) for long period of time. Fruits were picked in 03/25/2020, treated with 1-Methylcyclopropene (1-MCP), packed in boxes for 18kg for 575 days in AA. The apples were evaluated (after 575 days in AA and 575 days in AA + 7 days of shelf-life) flesh firmness, titratable acidity, total soluble solids (SST) and percentage of fruit rots. The experimental data was compared with the average of 6 years of historical data of ‘SCS443 Isadora’ apples freshly picked. Even aft er 575 days the ‘Isadora’ apples had no firmness decrease on flesh fruits. The titratable acidity had a significant reduction in the averages, independent of the experimental condition applied in post-harvest fruits. The total soluble solids (SST) did not showed signifi cant variation, and the fruit rots symptoms was less than 5%, even after 1,6 years of storage in AA (1 ± 1°C). The ‘SCS443 Isadora’ apple variety has high storability of its apple fruits.
