Keywords:
Prunus persica, low chilling peach varieties, peach breeding.Abstract
Abstract – The cultivar SCS423 Bonora (National Cultivars Registration Number 33849) was developed by Epagri´s Peach Breeding Program at the Experimental Station of Urussanga. Its parents are the cultivars Ouromel 4 and Pampeano. The fruits are medium to large in size with firm flesh and rounded shape. Fruit appearance, white coloration of the pulp and low acidity are characteristics that please consumers, making this cultivar one of the favorites. It requires approximately 200 hours of temperature below 7.2°C for winter chill accumulation. It is recommended for South, Upper Itajaí Valley, West and Far West regions of Santa Catarina State. Its flowering is precocious, being moderately resistant to bacteriosis (Xanthomonas arboricola pv., pruni) and to canker of the branches or canker of Botriosphera caused by Botryosphera spp.Downloads
