Recovery of native herbs by the cutting method

This work addresses management techniques and also the recovery of native yerba mate plants damaged over the years by inadequate management and pest attacks. The ability to make them productive again using the pruning method was evaluated. It was concluded that it is advisable to increase plant density using nursery-produced yerba mate seedlings, since native groves do not offer this characteristic and are very uneven in density. Pruning should be done during the plants' dormancy period, which corresponds to the months of June to September.
