Nutrient balance and soil properties under organomineral fertilization in a consolidated no-tillage system

Authors

Abstract

Nutrient balance is an important indicator of the efficiency of cropping systems. The use of organomineral fertilizers, which integrate organic and mineral sources, in addition to contributing to the maintenance of soil fertility and quality, improves the availability and utilization of nutrients. The study was conducted in the municipality of Maravilha (SC), starting in 2022, encompassing the cultivation of wheat, corn (2022/23 crop), soybeans (2023/24 crop) and corn (2024/25 crop). The treatments consisted of doses equivalent to 10%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of the organomineral fertilization recommendation, in addition to a treatment with 100% of the mineral dose. Agronomic parameters of the plants, export rate, nutrient balance and utilization, as well as soil chemical attributes such as pH in H₂O, SMP, phosphorus, potassium, and carbon content were evaluated. The variables were subjected to analysis of variance, and the means were compared using Tukey's test at a 5% probability level. The use of organomineral fertilization showed potential to maintain the productivity of wheat, soybean, and corn crops in a consolidated no-till system, with positive responses in nutritional balance and soil fertility throughout the production cycles. The higher doses of organomineral fertilizer provided higher levels of phosphorus and potassium, reflecting a better nutrient balance. However, a tendency towards reduced yield and soil levels was observed with decreasing doses, highlighting the importance of balanced nutrient management in the soil.
