Abstract

The instability of genotypes in different environments is due to interacton between genotypes and environments. The recommendaton of genotypes to specifc environmental conditon is necessary when there is high interacton. The objectve of this study was to evaluate the stability and adaptability of eight sunflower genotypes in the North Plateau of Santa Catarina State, Brazil, in six experiments carried out during the 2006/07, 2007/08 and 2008/09 harvest periods. Four methods were used in order to evaluate the stability and adaptability. None of the genotypes showed high stability and adaptability, but there were large differences between genotypes for these variables.
