Abstract

There is a lack of land use alternatives in winter in the northern plateau of Santa Catarina State (Brazil) and, at same time, there is insufficient information about winter species performance to produce vegetal oil that can be use in biodiesel production. The objective of this research was to evaluate the yield and other agronomic traits of canola (Brassica napus), crambe (Crambe abyssinica), oil seed radish (Raphanus sativus) and flax (Linum usitatissimum) to produce oil. Canola showed the highest grain and oil yield and oil seed radish showed the lowest.
