        Abstract

The physiological state of several species maintained at Epagri’s germplasm collections was studied by means of viability and germination tests, and vigor index. Species of  Phaseolus vulgaris, Allium cepa, Oriza sativa, Paspalum dilatatum, Bromus auleticus, Trifolium repens and Adesmia tristis had ten accessions sampled
each one. By the statistical analysis it was observed that the evaluation methods were adequate for monitoring these accessions. The seeds of these accessions had viability ranging from 18 to 32 years and the physiological degradation was dependent on the species and storage conditions.
