Policy on gender and ethnic equality
RAC guides and encourages the use of the Sex and Gender Equity in Research (SAGER) guidelines (Heidari et al., 2017) to report information about sex and gender in study design, data analysis, results, and interpretation of findings. See the guidelines in Figures 1 and 2.
Checklist for studies that include human participants and for studies that do not include human participants (Van et al., 2022).

Authors submitting their work to RAC must ensure that there is no prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination based on race, sex, ethnicity, age, culture, sexual orientation, disability, or any health condition. Communication at all stages must be respectful, adopting a cordial and bias-free approach.
Gender Identity - RAC adopts a policy of promoting equality and inclusion of diversity in scientific communication. Authors may include their social name or request a correction to their civil pronoun. The request to change the author's name from X to Y, which is included on the Transgender Person Self-Declaration form, must be completed and signed using an authenticable electronic signature via Gov.br. The form was adapted from the model adopted by the UFSC Journal Portal (2024, p. 03).
