        Abstract

The protected cropping of strawberry makes possible to get high yield with low use of chemicals.
There are several possibilities to grow strawberry, being the hydroponic system in vertical position an option that maximizes the use of the area. The aim of the present work was to evaluate the sugar content and the average weight of fruits influenced by the height of the plants in relation to the ground and the disposition of plants in relation to the cardinal points. The sugar content in fruits with northwest exposition was superior to southeast, however, it was not different from northeast and southwest exposition. Fruits from the superior part of the bags
had higher sugar contents and average weight, compared to fruits from the inferior part of the bags.
