            Abstract

Two experiments were carried out at Epagri/Experiment Station of Canoinhas in 2003/04 and 2004/05 seasons, in the North Plateau of Santa Catarina State, Brazil, with the aim to evaluate the performance of pop corn genotypes. There were variations in cycle, plant height, stalk breakage, grain yield and popping expansion among the 15 genotypes of the first experiment and among the ten genotypes of the second. The
hybrids IAC 112 and IAC 125 had high grain yield potential and good popping expansion.
