Abstract

The fruit processing industry has great potential, not only because of the product it produces, but also because of the enormous amount of waste it generates. When not used, this waste is a source of pollution. Using waste can be a way to reduce environmental pollution, add value to the product, reduce the cost of industrialization and, consequently, the price of the product, and increase job opportunities in factories. In short, using waste from fruit processing industries can be a big business, increasing the range of products offered, generating jobs and income, and reducing environmental pollution.
