Open data policy

RAC follows Open Science guidelines, aiming to apply best practices. The journal encourages authors to share their research data in open access, in open data repositories, observing the principles that address the FAIR Principles (2025), which aim to ensure machine-readable data – enabling the collection, validation, reanalysis, and replication of data in new studies.

Research data can include: samples, collection records, forms, models, experimental results, software, graphs, maps, videos, spreadsheets, audio recordings, databases, teaching materials, and others (Dudziak, 2018). Authors must attach a data availability statement to their submission.

b) Fairsharing - interdisciplinary
c) Figshare - interdisciplinary
d) Open Science - interdisciplinary
e) Research Square: multidisciplinary
f) Zenodo – interdisciplinary

RAC adopts the data types and formats indicated in the USP Research Data Management Guide – Dudziak (2018).

Data types:

a) Observational data;
b) Experimental data;
c) Simulation data;
d) Derived or compiled data.

File types:

a) Textual data (XML, TXT, HTML, PDF/A, Open Office);
b) Tabular data (CSV, xlsx);
c) Statistical data (R - .r, .rdata; SPSS - .data, .sps; STATA - .dat, .do);
d) Image data (TIF, PNG);
e) Databases: (XML, CSV);
f) Audio data (FLAC, WAV, MP3);
g) Compressed data (ZIP);
h) README files (TXT);

The practice of sharing data is aligned with the principles of Open Science, reinforcing RAC's commitment to best editorial practices and the dissemination of scientific knowledge. Practically speaking, making research data available allows for its reuse in new studies and ensures the transparency of the research conducted. In this case, authors may provide the location where the raw data are stored, unless this is not possible for ethical, privacy, or confidentiality reasons. If data sharing is not applicable to the article (such as in the case of literature reviews) because no dataset was generated or analyzed during the current study, this should be stated.

If the author makes the article's data available, publication of this data must be completed before the final version of the article (if accepted) is published, so that the article can reference the published data.
